Tournament Scoring
2468 Club events follow National Mah Jongg League style tournament scoring. Points accumulate across every game of the night and across the season.
When a player wins (Mahjong)
Hand value
The winner receives the point value shown on the NMJL card for the winning hand.
+10 self-pick
Bonus points if the winning tile was self-picked (drawn from the wall).
+10 no Jokers
Bonus points if the winning hand contains no Jokers. This bonus does not apply to Singles & Pairs hands.
When a player discards the winning tile
−10 points
If the winner had 1 or fewer exposures before the winning tile was discarded.
−20 points
If the winner had 2 or more exposures before the winning tile was discarded.
Other scoring
Example
A player completes a 25-point hand, self-picks the winning tile, and uses no Jokers:
25 + 10 + 10 = 45 points
If another player had discarded the winning tile and the winner already had 2 exposed sets, the discarding player would receive −20 points.
